Living in Malaysia

Image

Welcome to Malaysia. We strongly believe that our multinational and multicultural educational environment will enrich your experience during your stay here.

Malaysians are made up of a multi-ethnic society consisting of three main ethnic groups; Malays, Chinese and Indians. About half of the population is ethnically Malay, with large minorities of Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indians and indigenous people in Sabah and Sarawak. We live together harmoniously with our own distinct identities and diversified culture and this can be observed very clearly during the numerous cultural and religious festivals that we celebrate throughout the year in Malaysia.

Malay language is used as the official language. However, English language is also widely used in business transactions, commerce, banking, and international trade. In addition, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Hakka are spoken by the local majority Chinese population while Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi as well as Punjabis are popular amongst the local Indian population.
